Renata Schmerling is a Partner of WislPort for Brazil Region bringing over 20 years' experience in anti-corruption compliance, investigations, due diligence, M&A processes structuring, as well as in Corporate, Business and Contract Law, working as a member of top tiered Brazilian law firms and big four consultancies.
During her career, Renata has assisted multinational and large national corporations and law firms in diverse cases of anti-fraud and anti-corruption compliance matters (Brazilian Clean Companies Act, FCPA and UKBA), including risk assessments, maturity evaluation and implementation of compliance programs, drafting policies and procedures, adherence testing of internal controls, monitoring, third parties’ management, background checks, asset tracing, investigations, trainings, among other activities.
Renata has previously worked at the forensics department of EY Brazil in São Paulo and has since founded her own firm Schmerling Consulting, to support its clients develop, implement, and improve smart, cost-effective, best practices and practical compliance elements or services that maximise organisation's businesses and results including the rollout, periodic review, and dissemination of compliance program.
